Slab Leak Detection

For all of those who have had to deal with a leak related problem, it is more than likely safe to say that not all of them are that easy to locate. I mean if they were then it would not be as much of a problem as it used to be. My father was a plumber, so I spent many afternoons ans weekends watching these situations unfold. Well, needless to say things have really changed in a positive way.

In the old days, leak detection equipment was almost non existant, at least not anywhere near the extent to which it has developed today. This often created a big mess with having to dig around for the problem. And this was not just for leaks under the slab. This occured with many of the plumbing problems that were not easily detectable.

Underground Leak Detection Devices

AS I stated earlier, in the past ten years technology has really come a long way for these locating devices. Those that have had yards dug up in the past can really appreciate this type of deal. Now specialists can use this little gadget to pin point the location of a leak with excellent accuracy. This leads to a decreased chance that a plumber will have to dig up more than they have to. I had a slab leak the other day and everything went very smoothly because of these little detection devices. Only a small piece of my hard had to be dug up and then a rod boring machine was used to fix it up. I was so satisfied because I could barely even tell that they had been there.

Water Leak Signs

 Some basic signs include:

An increased or unusually high water bill. This can be quite alarming for many. Something that I know that I was not expecting when it happened.

Often times there will be soft spots in the yard from leaks in the water line and such.

The best action to take when you suspect that you have a slab leak or any kind for that matter is to call your local plumbing specialist. Many companies will provide their customers with a free estimate as well.
