Licensed Practical Nurse or LPN

A licensed practical nurse or LPN is a person who cares for the sick and injured. They are also sometimes called Licensed Vocational Nurses or LVN. LPN practice under the supervision of a doctor or registered nurse which is abbreviated RN. LPN carry out roles like taking vital signs and recording general health information form patients. They do several other activities as well.

Registered Nurse or RN

Registered nurses often work in hospitals and health care facilities. They care for patients who are injured or sick. They are qualified to administer treatment, but still consult with physician about the treatment plan. Many RN positions, have to have a BSN which stands for Bachelor of Science in Nursing. A BSN is four year degree.

Masters in Nursing or MSN

After you have received a BSN, it usually takes about two more years to get an MSN. With a masters degree in nursing, They deliver treatment in hospitals and health care facilities that was previously by physicians. These nurses are also known as APNs or Advanced Practice Nurses.
